In a word, R.A.P.I.D. Building System™ is innovation. The concept is based on a unique design of wall and floor panels, trusses and joists. These patented structural components of the building provide excellent value in multiple construction applications. The World Wide Homes R.A.P.I.D. Building System™ is very durable, and high in quality, while offering ease of use and simplicity of design.
The R.A.P.I.D. Building System™ is engineered as a complete structurally integral system, which is constructed of prefabricated elements. Walls, floor panels, joists and trusses are pre-assembled in the factory. These building system elements are made of galvanized cold-formed light or medium steel sheets.
The World Wide Homes pre-engineered system is designed for rapid assembly while leveraging the superior physical properties of steel. Our technology can apply to any architectural specifications and we provide our customers with a totally engineered package including structural drawings and calculations.
Typically, while the site preparation is being done, the building system elements are fabricated. Once the foundation is ready, the completed prefabricated modules including joists, walls, trusses, wiring, plumbing, heating, and finishing are then shipped to the job site. Installation takes one or two days and then the modular building is ready for occupancy.
This unique steel framing technology has been engineered with the use of detailed computer aided design and state of the art manufacturing. The following structural elements are roll-formed out of light gage steel.
The wall panels of the R.A.P.I.D. Building System™ consist of formed corrugated steel sheet filled on both sides with non-flammable, non-toxic insulation. They fit easily into the top and bottom channels for efficient wall assembly. The height and width of the wall panels can vary depending on customer specifications. The panels have tubing for electrical wiring and are finished with conventional drywall on the inside and with various customer-specified finishes on the outside.
The floor panel consists of the corrugated steel sheet decking covered by a non-flammable fibre-cement board. The floor dimensions are constructed in standard sizes to facilitate assembly, transportation and installation. The steel floor joists are bolted to the steel frame using thicker gage brackets.
The formed steel joists are made into the shape of C-channels or other strong shapes. They provide support for the floor panels.
Roof truss members are also formed light gage steel made into C-channel and other shapes. Truss joints are reinforced with joint plates for improved performance.
Standard finishing materials such as drywall, siding, roofing, flooring, doors and windows are used with the R.A.P.I.D. Building System™ modules. Options are available for environmentally friendly materials.
